While scrolling through our Instagram feeds, we see many makeup looks that seem appealing and worth a try – the dropping of facial oils, layering of foundation to cover blemishes and the stunning, glittery eyeshadows that make the eyes glimmer. However, with more time being spent indoors and lives becoming even busier, the ‘made-up’ makeup look has taken a back seat, while the effortless ‘no makeup’ look is under the spotlight. This easy makeup look is simple, wearable for daily errands (even with the mask!) and as timeless and elegant as it gets.
What do you need for a simple makeup look?
In ancient times, women used soot from earthen Diyas to enhance their eyes and fresh extracts from natural, freshly cut Beetroot, to tint their lips and cheeks. With makeup becoming a huge part of Bollywood, beauty in the ‘90s witnessed a surge in heavily lined cat eyes, bold lips with highly contoured and blushed cheeks. In comparison, the 2000’s arrived like a breath of fresh air as the focus in this era completely changed to undefined lines, luminous skin, tinted lips and sun-kissed cheeks. This was colloquially referred to as the ‘no-makeup’ makeup look that everyone loved and wanted to achieve.
Thanks to this minimal makeup look, the concept of ‘skincare before makeup’ became more of a priority than an option. Therefore, to achieve a simple makeup look that is natural, dewy and lets your skin speak, the skin must be prepped well with an everyday CTMS routine – cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Step 1 – Cleanse
This step applies to the beginning and end of your day. Starting and ending your day with a clean base is of extreme importance for a healthier complexion. Step 2 – Tone

Step 3 – Moisturize

Step 4 – Sunscreen

How to do makeup as per your complexion?
After your skin is fully prepped, use a skin tint or concealer to cover the blemishes and lightly dab these areas with a concealer brush. Set the areas with a setting powder to ensure the tint stays for longer hours. You can lightly dust the Forest Essentials Dusting Powder of your choice.
Then, apply the Gulaab Khaas Kajal in Charcoal Black to your upper waterline and lash line. This will ensure your eyes look brighter and bigger. For a more dramatic effect, you can line the lower lash line heavier than usual.
For the lips, gently dab the Anar Rasa Madhu Rasa Tinted Lip Serum for a beautifully fresh ruby red tint. You can also apply the Gulaab Jal Tinted Lip Serum and layer it with the Coconut Kesar Lip Serum for an added shine and dainty look. For a more elegant look at night, apply two layers of the Anar Rasa or Misri Cardamom Lip Serum for a longer stay and an opaque finish.

Essential Tip:
You can dab some of the lip serum on your cheeks for a sun-kissed look. Apply some on the bridge of your nose for an even fresher look.
