A STITCH IN TIME
How to turn back the clock on your hands with Forest Essentials’ new Dual Repair Hand Treatment

“HYALURONIC ACID, RETINOLS, VITAMIN C—THE LIST OF ANTI-AGEING substances available for our faces is long, and growing. But what about your hands? In fact, your hands are often the busiest part of the body: You use them to work on a computer, pick up your keys, apply your makeup, send a Whatsapp, and more, so why have we been so lax in looking after them? Or do we simply forget? “Hands are the most exposed, delicate, and often the least cared for parts of our body. While much attention is given to facial skin, it is the hands that begin to show the first signs of fine lines, uneven pigmentation, and age,” explains Mira Kulkarni, founder of Forest Essentials. Which is why the luxury Ayurveda brand is launching their Dual Repair Hand Treatment this month. Comprising a Blood Orange Hand Serum and Hand Polisher, this duo is designed to treat dryness, and smoothen the skin. “It is essential to exfoliate and moisturise hands regularly for them to remain youthful,” adds Kulkarni, explaining that an accumulation of dead skin cells can reduce the amount of absorption of any creams and serums. Sea salt is blended with cold pressed oils, honey, and blood orange essential oil to exfoliate without drying out the hands, and is to be followed by the antioxidant- and omega-3-rich serum. “Freshly pressed blood orange oil is a highly efficacious ingredient, known for its deep moisturising and plumping properties,” explains Kulkarni of her decision to use the multi-purpose ingredient, which also has mood-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. The result? Softer, smoother hands.”
